"The Desire of my heart is to bring Hope and Healing to yours."
Laurie Ann Palmer, MA, TLLP
Hello, my name is Laurie and I am looking forward to working with you. As a wife and mother for 30+ wonderful years, I have experienced both the wonders and challenges of this thing we call life. Years ago, while raising my children I was fortunate through the help of counseling, to overcome a bout of postpartum depression. Crossing that bridge of victory put a calling on my life to become a Counselor. The joys (and strategies) from many years of wedded bliss also contributed to my desire to instruct couples in thoughtful and creative ways to enhance and strengthen the marital relationship. I am a strong proponent of proactive relationship-building while also using therapy to bring help and healing to relationships that have already been broken.
I received my Masters in Counseling/Psychology at Moody Theological Seminary. As a trained Counselor, I have had the opportunity to counsel individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, grief and various other issues. I have significant experience in marital counseling and have worked with many couples suffering from conflict and trials in their marriage. Healthy Relationships are important to me and understanding the obstacles, whether existential or emotional, is paramount to creating building blocks that lead to recovery, restoration and inner peace.
Identifying obstacles in life’s journey and “our reactions to those obstacles” is crucial to bring about awareness of behavioral patterns and the desired change we are hoping for. My goal is to walk that journey with you and help you discover what those challenges are. Together, we will develop a creative road-map of attainable goals to improve the quality of your life and your relationships.
I am equipped to help you with both psychological and spiritual issues. Sometimes our worst enemy comes from spiritual battles which trigger fear, uncertainty and lack of self-worth. I can provide Biblical counsel that will promote deeper understanding to many issues that bind us from the freedom to enjoy life.
I believe that helping those who are hurting gives hope to the heart, and that is the place where healing begins.
